Your reports are yours.
myEval doesn’t collect, store or share your personal data. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device and how it protects it.
Effective October 14, 2026 · Applies to the myEval app for iPhone and iPad
No data collected
No account, no servers, no analytics, no advertising.
Encrypted on device
Reports are saved encrypted, with the key in the iOS Keychain.
You decide what’s shared
Nothing leaves your device unless you print, send or export it.
Who we are
myEval is made by VTAN LLC (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy, email contact@vetan.us.
Information we collect
None. myEval does not have user accounts and does not send any information to us or to anyone else. The app contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking tools, and it does not use your location, contacts or photos. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information stored on your device
To do its job, myEval keeps the following only on your iPhone or iPad. We cannot see or access any of it.
| What | Why | How it’s protected |
|---|---|---|
| Reports and summary groups you write (names, rates, dates, grades, comments and other form entries) | So you can write, review and print evaluations | Encrypted with AES-256-GCM; the key is kept in the iOS Keychain |
| Social Security numbers — only if you choose to save them | To fill blocks 4 and 27 when printing | Stored inside the encrypted reports, shown masked; requires App Lock and confirmation to reveal |
| RSCA tracker numbers from your BOL report | To calculate the PSG RSCA | Stored in the iOS Keychain |
| App settings, such as App Lock preferences | To remember how you use the app | Stored on the device |
Face ID, Touch ID and passcodes
If you turn on App Lock, myEval asks iOS to confirm it’s you using Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. iOS only tells the app whether the check succeeded — myEval never receives or stores your face, fingerprint or device passcode. On a device without these, you can set a separate myEval passcode, which is stored only on the device.
When information leaves your device
Only when you choose to share it:
- Encrypt & send. Creates a
.myevalfile protected by a password you choose (AES-256-GCM). You send it with the app of your choice — Mail, Messages, AirDrop and so on. SSNs are left out unless you turn on “Include saved SSNs”. - Export for NAVFIT98A. Creates a file NAVFIT98A can import. This file is not encrypted and never contains SSNs.
- Print or save as PDF. Produces the evaluation form through the iOS print system.
Once you share a file, its handling is governed by the app or service you send it with and by the recipient. Follow your command’s policy for sending personally identifiable information.
Backups
Like other apps, myEval’s files may be included in your iCloud or computer backups if you have backups turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple under its own privacy policy; we have no access to them.
Deleting your information
In myEval, go to Settings › Delete all drafts to erase every report, group and RSCA tracker number on the device, or Remove all saved SSNs to remove only SSNs. Deleting the app also deletes its data. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
myEval is a professional tool for writing U.S. Navy evaluations and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If we change how myEval handles information, we’ll update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
